Greetings in the Blessed Name of Jesus Christ

September 17, 2020

In less than 30 days we are gearing up for our 3rd year of holding our annual Senior Ministry program.  Praise God for the blessings from the programs we have held.  We look for a need and a Word from the Lord for our direction, our marching orders each year.  This year we are led to continuing our emphasis on the Ruth and Naomi story.  We have seen a need to help our seniors broaden their access to technology in this time when this is our best opportunity to interact with the world. On my job, I take calls from customers and can remember the story of a senior living in a high rise on the water in Miami.  She told me she wanted to learn how to use the internet; yet in a building of over 100 tenants, no one would help her and teach her how to get online and communicate with others.  This story is amplified when you add poverty, no access to the internet, no friends or relatives, no one to care.  We as Christians can do something about this.  I am asking you to join me and the Tampa District online at a Zoom Meeting on October 17, 2020, beginning at 3:30 p.m. EST. We are ware there is a Quarterly Conference in a different district in the morning, but the afternoon appears to be free, per the episcopal calendar.  The event is entitled, “Ruth and Naomi: Zooming to the Future.”  I am seeking patient, compassionate, loving Christians, both younger and older to help train seniors on how to Zoom. We need volunteers to help seniors learn to Zoom and we need our Seniors to accept this opportunity to learn and some who are able to teach.  We can truly affect lives, enrich lives, and spread and demonstrate the love of Jesus.  If you can help or need help, please contact your District Senior Director, your Pastor or contact me, Rev. Marcia Miller, for information. I can be reached by telephone at 813 507-6631, email marcia33511@ or send us a message via our church website  Any Church, or District that can help or can bring others for help, we need to know.  Pray about this; not everything is for everyone, but if God is leading you to participate then please be obedient, we could all use a blessing in these times.
