Scripture: Psalms 51: 1-12
Sermon Title: Where areYour Sins?
The focus of the sermon is 1st John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Job questions his sins or lack there of in Job 13: How many are mine iniquities and sins? make me to know my transgression and my sin. Job was crying out to God because he did not know why God had put all the troubles in his life, his friends tried to tell him he must have sinned. In Psalms 51: 2 Daviad ask God Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. David knew his sin and wanted to be cleansed from it. You see David didn't know he could call on Jesus because Jesus had not come yet. John 1 :17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. David broke the law when he slept with Bathsheba and had her husband killed in order to marry Bathsheba. David didn't to cry out to Jesus to cover his sin with the blood. We are blessed that God gave His only begotten Son 1 John: 29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. John knew and we know. We no longer have to live in our sins, Praise God for Jesus has taken all our sins away, those we have commited by commision(sins we have commited) and sins of ommision (things we should do but we do not). 1st John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. We have to recognize and acknowledge we have sinned and allow the Blood of Jesus take away our sin. Jesus died to take away the sins of the world. We must each look at our own lives and know what sins we have committed. When we hurt people but that is rarely enough when the pain is deep. So we must go to God and have our sins washed away. Rock of Ages Cleft for Me, Could my tears forever flow, All for sin could not atone;Thou must save, and Thou alone. Religion cannot save us or cleanse our sins. No person can cleanse our sins. 1st John 1: 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, Jesus alone can wash away all our sins. We can go back to the beginning to Genesis and the story of Cain and Able. Able's offering of blood was acceptable. Blood cleanses our sin, they are gone they are washed away by the blood of Jesus. I know it was the blood,I know it was the blood,I know it was the blood for me. We are covered in that blood. We are so blessed, it is amazing that the world still has not realized what we have available through the Bloof of Jesus. Where are your sins, they are covered in the blood of Jesus, they are gone away washed brighter than snow.
