Scripture Hebrews 12: 18-29

Sermon: The Mediator and The Advocate

In times like these we need The Mediator and The Advocate because of sin we need The Mediator this Jesus who ascended to Heaven and sits on the right hand of God the Father and acts as a go between between God and man. The Mediator carries our cries to God and His blessings to men. With His attoning blood He stands between God and man covering our sins so we may aapproach the throne of grace the seat of mercy. The Advocate is our intercessor because Jesus came bled died rose again and went back to Heaven so the comforter would come. Before we knew His name He knew us, from the beginning the whole of the Trinity has been working on behalf of man to keep the right relationship bought by the sprinking of His blood. Job knew he had a mediator, he didn't know His name but he knew He was there Job 16:9 Even now my witness is in heaven; my advocate is on high. 20 My intercessor is my friend as my eyes pour out tears to God; 21 on behalf of a man he pleads with God as one pleads for a friend. Or look to King Hezekiah slated for death 2nd Kings 20 In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, “This is what the Lord says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover.” 2 Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, 3 “Remember, Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly. When confronted with our sins we must weep as King Hezejkah did,, The one thing both these men had was a relaionship with God. Don't wait until you need God to try and develop a relaionship with Him do ir today for our God is a consuming fire but He is also our Brother our mediator and our Advocate
